Squirt: brief chronology of a short boat although i never actually finished my squirt, i’ll share my build story with you. perhaps it will give some helpful insight to the new builder. perhaps it will help you to avoid some of the mistakes i made. the first step was to transfer the plans onto wood. the way i went about this was. The squirt is designed for the beginning boat builder and with economical use of material in mind. on the water it is best with people of average height and weight and taking kids for rides. it could also be perfect for a younger power boater learning to handle a boat.. I built a 10 foot glen l squirt over the past year and in this video i explain some of the things that i learned along the way. here is the link to the plans....

The boat turned out very well and only minor changes were made to the boat that differ from the plans. i'm still tweaking the motor but couldn't be happier with the performance of the boat. the boat handles well and planes extremely fast with the 20 hp johnson.. October 2017 jet squirt with a 1000 cc tigershark monte carlo engine. extended the frame by 8 inches in the back, and 6 in the front. top speed so far is 55 mph, might get more out of it with some impeller work..
